Starship troopers demo, what do u think?

If u liked the movie, you, like me, probabaly wanted a game. Heavent played it, bout to dl it. Its on the front page of 3dgamers Hope its good, always thought this game could be fun.

Game is ok, a little weird on the control, mouse look feels i dont know, weird. Kinda hard to hit the bugs where ur posed too, meby i just gotta get a little more used to how the game should be played. Little more ammo wasting probabaly. Seems sub par, and now i know why its taken so long, just hard to recreate the movie i guess.

OMG...don't get me started. This demo was probably one of my least favorite demos/games I've ever played. Was ANY thought put into designing this game? And ontop of boring gameplay, it's got more bugs than pam anderson. The mouse is EXTREMELY laggy and the game itself get's horrible frame rates on my rig (check the sig) which really shouldn't be happening.

Biggest waste of bandwidth I've come accross in some time.

Just what I was thinking. Way too many shots to kill a bug (well the yellow ones anyways), too many at once and the mouse just feels gross. Horrible game...

I really enjoyed the movie but the game is un-playable for me! It runs in slow motion! It's not lag (if it is..it is unlike any lag i have ever seen) Its like watching a movie in slow motion!
I have an X2 4400+, a 7800GTX and 2 GB RAM. I think the game should run a LITTLE bit better on this machine. I messed with affinty and nothing changed. The demo sucks for me.

The video actually looked pretty good. Decent graphics, lots of people on screen, decent action...map designs were really bland though and the animations looked terrible (blood, fire, etc)

still, time could fix this game and make it good.

and the mouse just feels gross.

Had the same problem with laggy mouse and movement. I turned off all the shadows in the video options and it runs smooth now.

Demo is still a disappointment though :|.

Good, it was a wonder why there was a wait to get it...

Ya know what else I thought of? The demo itself installed is like 84mb but the downloaded files and stuff is around 125 or somethin. Isn't it usually compressed and then the installed game is bigger than the setup files?

Never mind...it was boring, had bland graphics, bad music (and not the right type of music at any time) and the controls were uncomfortable.

not only that, the bugs didn't die, so it was near impossible at some points, so i didn't finish it

The shotgun took care of the bugs in 1-2 shots.

yah i coudnt quite figure it out either wtf to do once arrived at the crashing site, until i tried it a couple times. I found the shotgun and it was a breeze from there, i mean incredibly easy.

when i turned the sound quality on high i got major lag - im using a hercules gametheater XP. even with the sounds on low (which made it playable), it sounded crappy and i had all sorts of video errors when turning texture/shadow/model quality up high:|

Who cares, the movie wasn't awesome because it had some deep meaning, it was awesome because it had some asskicking action and(for the time) awesome special effects.
Take it for what it is, a mindless action movie.

That said, if I ever get bored maybe I'll download the demo just because.

QUICK - name ONE sci-fi/fantasy movie [besides LOTR] that was 'as good as' the classic book it adapted?

If you REALLY want to be disappointed read Asimov's "Nightfall" [voted the greatest science fiction story of all time] then see David Carridine in the [Indian] movie's "adaptation" . . . uh, bastardization.
