I'd be surprised if that was better. (and yes, I have read it)

First movie had good FX, hollow story, and plot holes and inconsistencies so huge you could drive one of those starships through. It was entertaining to watch, but my friends and I shredded it before even being out of the theater parking lot.

The trailer for 2 dosen't look like anything big. If it's treated serious like Alien it could quite likely be cool. If it's treated badly like Mimic 2, it'll suck hard like many here are predicting. While most straight-to-video is bad, there is the odd exceptional one, no question. But will this be one? 😛

Its on the Action channel tonight. I'm recording the 4am showing of it. According to the program guide, it has nudity, so thats probably an affirmative to the hot naked chicks.

They made a sequel to Starship Troopers? When did this happen and why did they think this was a good idea?

Edit: I thought the first one was good, but certaintly not good enough to warrant a sequel.

I loved the first movie. Never knew they were making a sequel. Can't wait to see it on DVD! For me, there's almost no such thing as a bad sci-fi movie! 😀

Your title is misleading. It implies that the original Starship Troopers was any good.

I really enjoyed the first one. It had great FX, and the over the top patriotism little "Do you want to more?" clips here and there just added to the overall campy feel of it. It never took itself as a serious movie. If you watched it to have fun it's a blast.

This miserable excuse for a follow up was nothing more than a under budgeted, poorly thought out, horribly executed film trying to get some extra attention by using the "Starship Troopers" nameplate.

I really enjoyed the first one too, but I was like what? 10 years old? I liked anything with naked chicks and guns... and I still do!!

I liked the first as well .. I never took it as a serious film, just a campy sci-fi movie ... and as such I thought it was very entertaining.
