StarOffice and OpenOffice freeze my system

I've tried to install both StarOffice and OpenOffice on my machine running Win2K. After installation of either one though, the computer freezes if I try to open the program. I have no idea why this happens. Plus, after loading StarOffice it asks if I want to log off. Is there some desktop component to these suites?

This means no one has had problems installing the Windows versions of StarOffice or Open Office?
