Here are the Highlights
200th Episode filmed.
Stargate SG-1 has entered the television record books. According to Los Angeles Museum of Television and Radio Library Supervisor Martin Gostanian, it is now the ?longest-running, scripted, made-for-cable television series in U.S. broadcasting history.?

General Jack O'Neill will be back for a couple of Episodes. He will be also on SGA (Atlantis)

There are no talks of the show going off any time soon.

Talks about a Movie and also a third spinoff Stargate show are in the works.

As much as I  the series, it really needed to have its finale at the end of season seven. It's been downhill since then, IMHO.

Your humble opinion stinks 😉
I  Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, ALL seasons.

Hey! I liked the Never-Ending Story! 😛

Truthfully though, I agree with you. SG1 just isn't the same without the original crew.

The last season with the O'Neill character being full-time was weak because of Richard Dean Anderson not really doing much. After they got the new General dude and the Cameron guy I think it went right back up. I really love the plot with the O'ri (sp?) - it almost goes back to the good ole days of fighting the Go'uld.

I really think they have a lot of story arcs to go for another few seasons.

Did your 9th grade English teacher tell you that? This is a TV series not a "A Tale of Two Cities".

Babylon 5, great as it was, is not the only model on which to build a good scifi series.

The whole point of Stargate was fighting the Gau'ould. The Or-Eye or whatever are even dumber than the Wraith. I haven't watched but maybe 4 episoders since RDA left.

That's kinda crazy, and in fact I think if you think that is the "whole point of Stargate" then you totally missed the point. It would be akin to saying the whole point of Star Trek was to fight the Klingons.

There is really much more to it than just fighting the Go'uld, and I think that is one of the many reasons the series has lasted as long as it has.

I think they need to concentrate on Atlantis instead of starting a new series. SG:A started off with a fantastic first season, but the second season slowly went downhill. There's still some chance to redeem it! 🙂

ORI are more powerful than the Wraith!

Not only are they more powerful, but the story is a lot deeper now. The Ori really ARE gods.

I stopped watching SG-1 last season and only watch Atlantis now. I kinda regret that, because a few times this past season the stories intersected, and I had no clue what was going on. I need to start watching SG-1 again and catch up with old episodes.

ORI are not gods, they are just assended beings.

Interesting article and good read. I had to admit that I thought SG-1 had seen better days (especially during parts of S7 and S8) but this last season definitely had some very good episodes (in 1 or 2 cases better than BSG even) and though not everyone will agree, I felt like the new characters (and new enemy) definitely gave the show a much needed shot in the arm. While I do miss RDA, Browder has been a capable fill-in and is not simply an O'Neill clone (which sometimes I see too often in SGA's Flanagan, not always a bad thing necessarily). As long as the show continues to have interesting characters and tell good stories, I don't see why it can't continue. As for 3 Stargate shows, I'm not sure that's a sustainable thing. I think story lines would overlap and be diluted far too often, even if you were to introduce yet another powerful enemy to the mix. After all, how many considerably more technologically advanced enemies can Earth deal with a one time? 😛

EDIT: Spelling

What is your definition of a god?

Well that explains it. If you're only watched four episodes, then you don't know WTF is going on.

Stargate is still good - but I really wish they would take themselves seriously. Like there was an ep last season where alien bugs kill like 20 or so men on an offworld base, and at the ending sg-1's only concern is if they're still on for movie night.

I dont have a definition of a god. I don't even believe in one, but lets not go there. I guess each person will have their definition.

If you believe that they are gods then so be it, but remember Gou'ld said they were gods also. I believe the show explained that they were ascended beings that seperated from the good ones.

Ahhhh...good news. I've always liked RDA. Good to see him return for a few. SG1 had a few lame ducks early in the season but I thought it picked up. I'm really liking the Ori as the new enemy. These guys don't mess around. SGA also had a really solid season. I can't wait until Sci-Fi Friday returns. Mid July right?

Yes but I think BSG isn't resuming until October, and there are rumors it will be on broadcast TV and not SciFi. It'll be hotter than SG1 but I see BSG dying out quicker.
