The Hatak (Ha'tak) class of Goa'uld warships are the primary ships of the fleets of the System Lords, In the center of the ship is a large, golden square pyramid, where all major functions and stations are maintained. It is not clear whether the pyramid can split from the other portion, as was seen in the Stargate movie when Ra attempted to escape via a pyramid 'ship.' However, all Goa'uld invasions tend to include a Hatak bombardment that is meant to either instill fear in the populace and force them to submit to the rule of the 'god,' or completely annihilate them.
The Ha'tak is protected by powerful shields, pulsed energy weapons resembling scaled-up versions of staff weapons, dozens of lighter vessels (including death gliders and Al'kesh al'kesh is a powerful bomber used in bombardments of areas. It is powerful enough to penetrate and collapse the Tok'ra's underground crystal tunnels. It is also a light troop transport ship used to land Jaffa on a planet to enslave or to kill the inhabitants of a planet.
It is also the class of vessel that Osiris had cloaked in orbit while she beamed down to Earth to probe Daniel Jackson's mind while he slept to get him to subconsciously decipher the text on an ancient tablet. It is able to travel at around 32,000 times the speed of light via hyperspace
Opposing the Goa'uld are the Tok'ra (literally "Against Ra") a rogue race of Goa'uld who have come to ally with the Tauri against the System Lords. They provide much valuable intelligence and technical assistance. The Tok'ra do not possess unwilling human hosts, unlike the Goa'uld they oppose.
A larger and more powerful version of the craft is used as the command ship for the System Lord in control of the fleet. Generally the strength and speed of the mothership and size of his Ha'tak fleet correlates with his power. The command ships of the System Lords Apophis and Anubis have both been highly visible in a number of episodes. The ships of the Goa'uld are generally believed to be less powerful than Asgard ships of comparable size.
