Stargate Atlantis question

Could the Atlantis folks use the same weapon SG1 used to defeat the replicators on the wraith?

I was impressed that they could dial out to all gates at the same time 🙂

huh? didn't the weapon used to defeat the replicators just cause the machine parts to stop communicating with one another? How would that defeat the wraith?

I still want to know why they didn't bring any zats or staff weapons with them. Those might've been more effective against the wraith than P90's.

No I dont think so. What makes you think that? Because its technology from the Ancients? Of course it doesn't really matter because they don't have the power required to dial back home.

I also thought it's stupid that the Entire Atlantis team knew how to operate the city within hours when it takes Daniel and Sam days to translate or figure out how things work...other than that, I think it's better than SG1 :Q

This can be explained by the fact they've already had time to study the ancients language and some tech.

Yeah, they'd been studying the Antarctic outpost for months before they left.

Exactly. It can also be explained because most of the stuff on Atlantis comes to life when someone with the Ancient gene operates it.

Maybe, but human & wraith might be similar so you might harm humans in the pegasus galaxy inadvertenly.. and dialing all the gates in the pegasus galaxy.

I seem to remember that they discovered in Atlantis that the wraiths evolved from the bug thing that attacked the main guy character...can't remember his name now. 😱

and why they use up P90 ammo like they have an endless supply.

Of course the answer to that one is that full auto looks cooler than single shots or 3-round bursts.

Actually, I guess it depends on the episode. I've seen some pretty cheesy ones on both fronts, but some really good ones as well. I still can't decide which one I like better. I guess here in a little while it won't matter since SG1's getting nixed....🙁

it takes more than single or 3-round bursts to take down a wraith, so you have to use full-auto or you're screwed.

If it takes more than 3 that's the perfect reason to NOT use auto. The spread of fire on auto is way to wide, you waste rounds. Single or burst is far more controllable so more rounds per magazine will actually hit the target...providing they know how to aim the bloody things in the first place.

Auto's designed to suppress, to hit or flush concealed targets, for rapid acquisition or for multiple target engagement. If you have only 1 target, you use single or burst and just keep firing till it stops moving. At least if you're further than say 50'. Granted, that's just my opinion.

After the first full season of SG:A I have to say its awesome.... best SCIFI out there right now.

And you should probably add spoiler tags to the title since these episodes havent aired in the US yet.
