And yes... they plan to reboot the Star Control franchise.

"We're very excited to publish a new Star Control game. We are inclined to go with an XCOM-like reboot using Star Control 2 as a major source of inspiration," said Brad Wardell, president and CEO of Stardock to Joystiq. "By rebooting the series á la XCOM, we can bring a new generation of gamers into a fun, silly space adventure. We hope to involve as many of the original designers and developers of the series, along with the fan base. It's important to us that Star Control remain true to its origins as much as is possible."

It's not TFB, but they're busy with Skylanders anyway.

Well, hopefully they at least bring on TFB as advisers. Last time a non-TFB entity made a Star Control game it killed the series.

The TA and MOO items are also interesting, wonder what the plans for them will be.

The only ones that matter have been mentioned already, with the exception of Total Annihilation which went to Wargaming as well. (Sort of mentioned, but by acronym only).

Battlezone Franchise and Moonbase Commander went to Rebellion Interactive.

The rest of the franchises listed are young child oriented (Backyard Sports, etc).

Apparently Paul Reiche says he hasn't heard from Stardock yet, and points out that Stardock can't have acquired rights to anything from SC1 or SC2 since they [TFB] still have those rights. So Stardock bought the name "Star Control" and rights to anything in SC3.

It's on the UQM forums, can't post a link at the moment.

Battlezone was a pretty big game, no idea who purchased it though.

Here's Paul Reiche's comments from earlier: http://forum.uqm.stack.nl/index.php?topic=5463.0

Here's a comment from a Stardock guy on their forum: http://forums.stardock.com/446967/page/1/ "We hope to have Paul (Reiche) and Fred involved in it. We've exchanged email to begin discussing the possibilities. We'll keep you informed."

Another update in that UQM forum thread. Someone points out that TFB is wholly owned by Activision now so if they have the rights to the SC2 stuff then it's unlikely that Stardock is getting at it. But then Brad (the Stardock CEO) says this:

"Brad from Stardock here.

We have connected with Paul and Fred. Fingers crossed but things look hopeful. The copyright to Star Control 1/2 is owned by Paul Rieche directly, not Toys for Bob so I think there is reason to think that they might be able to participate in the creation of a new Star Control game."

This would be awesome if they can get it worked out.
