You can run it using the Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode option. I found some tips here which can help in running the game without problems on Windows 7 x64.

I was also curious about this. I use W7 7201 x64 and I have had nothing but trouble with starcraft. I get messed up colors, lag and even crashes that require a reboot. I have tried compatibility mode, disabling desktop composition, cpu affinity, leaving the resolution window open and nothing seems to fix it.

Oh oh...looks like the thread I found goes out of the window then. It pretty much suggested all that you've already tried.

I run it in xp mode, works fine, but not in compatibility mode in win7.
