Two things. Find out what process is started as a result of opening up Starcraft. This way you can try to kill the process. Some processes stay active and won't show up in the Task Manager applications tab. Second, make sure that you have downloaded the latest compatibility update from Microsoft. There might be an update in there for you. I think you can find this in the Windows Update page. Luck....

Good luck. You can't kill the process either. When you try, it gives you the "end now?" prompt, you click it and nothing happens. Win2k will not shut down either, it is very frustrating. You can only hard boot your machine. I have had this problem on several different Win2k machines, with and without SP1 and SP2. Ahh well I have a Win98 machine I can run it on anyway :)

Hmmm. Very puzzling. I've been running SC + BW for quite a while on my W2K (RTM) with no problems like that.

When I upped the FSB to 112, SC would just drop out (to the desktop) after a little while, but after putting the FSB back to 100, it's fine.
