Starcraft 3D

Do you think Blizzard will ever release another Starcraft game for the PC?

What I would like to see is a 3D based game, like Warcraft III, using the Brood War expansion and add a new race. The new race could be based on the benevolent creators of the Protoss and Zerg or a tangent of the mutant humans that colonized the Terran worlds, or it could even be a completely new race.

I would still like it to be a RTS with more focus on combat than resources, much like the original Starcraft game.

yea... Starcraft : Ghost should be comming out soon, its more first person 3D than anything.

Their official word is "nothing has been announced yet" and "we have not yet revealed what team 2 is currently working on" (I think it's team 2... there are a few different software teams at Blizzard.)

So, in other words... I would bet that there will be a Starcraft 2, since SC is the best game ever 😀

They officially said that Ghost is not Starcraft 2.

I would bet the farm that there's gonna be another SC.

However, IIRC from the past, Blizzard is a little slow at making their games.

what i hear is that it will use the warcraft 3 engine ...............

and yes, i have been thinkig - "god, would it be a fine idea if they included the creators of zerg/protoss in the game". After all, their space ships were destroyed, and not their homeworld. And what about the humans on earth? the humans in starcraft were just survivors of crashed ships....

Starcraft has a huge story - just like we are accustomed to see from blizzard (diablo and warcraft, anyone?)

I would love it. Starcraft is my all-time favorite PC game. I'm pretty sure they'll make Starcraft 2, considering it's enormous success and the fact that Blizzard releases sequels to their franchises. I wonder if they'll have a "new" project ie. not based on SC, Diablo, or WC... 😉

all you have to do is look at the economics of it. IF they produce a SC 2, will it be a BEST SELLER? answer is YES, so OF COURSE they will.

what moron (other than Keanu Reeves) will turn down a sure fire best seller.

yeah, 3 years for D2 patch 1.10. That surprised me, I thought they'd abandoned it.
