I'm in Pakistan and I was wondering which version I should buy. I get a latency of about 175-220ms to Europe. Korea is higher.

Will 220+ be good enough to play online?

I would greatly appreciate someone giving me a guest pass just to try if the game is playable or not.

What would happen if 4-5 people from Pakistan buy the same region. Would playing against them give me low pings, or would it lag because the host would be European? I would guess the former. Right?

I've played CnC generals and Warhammer online before. They work well enough i'd say.

SC2 games are hosted on Blizzard's servers, so still expect lag.
 
Battlenet has noticible ping right now even when playing in the right region, i estimate 300-500 most times from what I've been feeling. 200ms might not be too bad when everyone has 500 and you have 675-720.
 
Even with high pings it's not that bad.
I know a guy currently in Japan who I play with since he's Euro and plays on Euro servers and it hasn't been a problem for him playing 1v1, and I haven't noticed any problems when we play 3v3 etc.

220ms shouldn't be too bad, and less than Japan to Europe.
