Starbucks coffees caffeine content? What's strongest?

I have been slightly addicted to starbux coffees for a few months. I was drinking sumatra and other bold blends thinking I was getting a caffeine dose second to none. Then one day a gal behind the counter told me that the bolder coffees have much less caffeine due to the length of the roasting. She said that in order to get a kick to drink the mild coffees since they are roasted briefer and all the cafeine isn't burnt away.

Also, is it correct that a shot of espresso has the equivilant caffeine of 1/3 cup of coffee?

Thanks,

I've heard that a cup of Folgers has the same amount of Caffeine as a double shot latte. (I cannont condirm this).

But just stumbled upon this. . Interesting read...

Cafe Americano. its like 1.40, Hot Water mixed with 2 shots(for the smallest size, called Tall i believe), add 2 shots, so its like 2.xx$ with tax, and its a huge waker upper.

"?Caffeine dependence is a non-issue for me because people won?t leave their home for it, won?t mortgage their house for it, won?t choose caffeine over their wife,? said Gold, who recently co-authored a study on coffee?s caffeine content."

LOL true. 😀

The 'Coffees of the Day,' or drip coffee to the layman, vary in caffination. Just ask to see one of the bags if you're unsure. If you want to get wired, get Americanos, as a previous poster mentioned. Their espresso shot content is the highest for the size. Mocha valencias also get more than average.
