Starband any good?

I am just curious. I am still using a fookin 56k dial up (i have the germs) and i can't get anything better for sometime. So i am curious if anyone has tried this Starband out?? Is it worth it or not? I am guessin it's not.
 
I checked it out and NO! If you get to downloading a lot (hogging the bandwith) they limit you which sucks plus the lag in gaming is still there... Sorry 🙁
 
I tried it at the Local Radio shack it was quite fast in downloading around 500 Kb/sec but there is a considerable amount of lag🙁

My friend has starband, and he says it's far better than a modem for downloading and about the same for gaming
 
For now I don't think starband is not worth it. Its like $600 to install it and it is not very reliable. And from what i've read it is NOT as good as 56k for gaming. Even my crappy 56k can get to 100ms pings. The startband is lucky to get 500ms. That will not change until the satelite gets closer, 23k miles is a long damn ways 🙂 for surfing it is prolly ok, but if u can get something else, do it.
