Assuming you have all 6 on DVD (yes, I know that they are not all on DVD yet), what order should they be watched in?

I vote:
4,5,6,1,2,3

Just bewcause of the plot twists in 4,5,6 (NO SPOILERS!) that wouldn't be plot twists if you saw 1,2,3 first.

I also added some other viewing options.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) (sometimes untitled depending on source)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)

You forgot

4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6.

You don't miss out on any of the surprises and still get to see a nostalgic and new ending.

if you watch the first 3 before the last 3 you will not get the same feeling watching Darth Vader. I can't take him seriously anymore.

I have yet to have watched III, IV, V, VI

I watched IV, V, VI in the theaters when they were released. I watched I in theaters but didn't bother with II (caught it on HBO) and I haven't seen III yet either.

Watch IV, V, VI and then I, II, III.

Edit-You really don't need to watch I, it offers little to the rest of the story. It's more of a kiddie film...appeals primarily to 6 year olds.

i was going to say 456123...but this sounds good too

I agree, it sounds interesting

watching 4 and 5 first allows you to see the nice plot twist that would not have been a suprise whatsoever if 1,2,3 had been made first. watching 6 last makes sense as well because it is the conclusion to the first 6 movies...the prophesy is fulfilled.

I saw 1 3 456. Didn't watch 2 since I thought 1 sucked. Watched 3, it was good, so I was propelled to watch 456. I'll have to say natalie portman is much hotter than the princess.

Should add original 4, 5, and 6 with out all the crap that Lucas added needlessly in the re-releases.

Don't know why you would watch 1, 2, and 3 first if you watched them at all. It would spoil the whole surprise with Luke and Vader in The Empire Strikes Back.

Definitely IV, V, VI, I, II, III. If for no other reason than the total mindfvck that is ESB. Watching the prequels before the original trilogy totally takes out one of the biggest plot twists in movie history.

I'd vote for seeing them in the order they were released. You pick up on all the neat things in the new ones that are leading up to things on the original ones. If you watch them in numerical order you'll have to go back and watch the first ones over again to realize things that you missed.

I vote 4,5,6,1,2,3
