The torrent is only coming in at 10k :( This video i found while surfing through that thread looks killer, I hope the action in the video is typical of the game and not just a highlight reel Text

Well, I played through the demo and I must say that I was positively suprised. Here's a quick review of it
+: The squad commanding system works fine; it's easy to use. Graphics are good (at least I think they are good) and the game runs okay. Sounds are good. Gameplay is good. It's hard
-: Little buggy, got two game-stopping bugs which required to start level again. Enemy AI is, well not horrible but not good either. Places where enemies keep spawning and spawning which will not end until you have managed to get out from the place. What's worse, they appear on ramps above you which makes them hard to kill in order to protect you and your squad while advancing(it seems that squad members can't fire up; atleast for me :p ). It's hard.

Other thoughts: The game is quite difficult even on easy (yeah, I played it through on easy :p gotta change it to normal for the next time). If you're not careful you can die quite easily, especially in the places where enemies keep spawning and spawning. The DC17 in sub-machine gun feels quite weak. I find the pistol better and more accurate than the DC17 in it's sub-machine gun form.

Here's another link for the demo. Should come fast. Atleast for me it came at full speed :)

I played this on the Xbox and I thought it was very good. The HUD and visor effects, such as oil (droid blood) being wiped away, was really cool.

Now I just need to decide which version I'll be getting... Xbox or PC. I presume the PC will have co-op, no?

not hard at all
it is short
beat it in 20 mins on hardest setting :(

I could see it being very repetitive... move squad here move squad there stand here snipe, get bacta, set charges, etc

Like someone said, higher alititude E's are harder for AI, but most cases when there are E's above, the story line doesn't want u there for long (ie, set a charge and run into the new hole in wall)

Yeah, it's a bit unremarkable. It feels like Medal of Honor to me. I wasn't a big fan of that scripted gameplay but I know others are. It unfolds like a story and I think the story is told well. It just doesn't leave much up to the player, except the shooting.

Turning off the in-game music helps.

I wasn't very impressed. The squad command seems too limiting. At least with Freedom fighters you could issue commands to each group member with a location and goal (defend / attack, etc). Here's you're limited to telling them to all take a single location, or to use statically-coded places in a pre-determined matter. Having said that, they seem to be fairly smart on their own (well, at least not any more brain-dead than the enemies). For my next SW fix, I'll wait for KOTOR thank-you-very-much =)

i didnt like the squad system either. yes, it works fine, but it's totally unnecessary. you find a door, point at it, press use, and your teammate blows it up. in any other game, like call of duty, your teammates would know their jobs and do them. same with getting health. if you find a health station, your teammates should get health. the fact that the developers give you control over your teammates health choices is not a feature. it's the same thing as the ipod shuffle. they took away the display, but they market that fact as one of the shuffle's primary features. now they just say "you dont know whats coming next!!! how cool is that!!!" and people buy it.

anyway, the guns blow too and the enemies just stand there. plus you can die a thousand times and still be revived, and it's overly scripted. not fun....

*Exactly* my thoughts.

It's like somebody was playing "Rainbow Six 3" and decided that the whole come-up-with-a-plan-of-action-before-the-level thing was too complicated, and they'd set up all the waypoints and actions for you.

And then replace your competent squadmates (since that might make you feel less l33t) with the AI equivelant of short-bus kids.

Oh, and then record segments from the "Spongebob Squarepants" movie to use as your elite commando's idle chatting dialog/taunts.
