well its still good news.

I think i have the original on dvd. it was ripped from laser disk though. But it still looks great and sounds great.

also in ET they changed the guns to cell phones and crap. they should leave the old movies how they were.

Wow, I can't believe this is going to just be a 4-disc set like Indiana Jones. Sh!t, LOTR is 4 discs per movie! I was expecting something like a 20 disc Uber-Lucas box set or something. If this is all they were going to do with the SW DVDs why the hell did they wait so long????

Ahhh, that makes sense now. There will probably also be the "10 disc mini-uber JarJar box set edition" in between those releases

This is Lucas! He seems to have both a hatred of advancing media tech and of Star Wars in general. The reason SW was released so much on VHS was that VHS didn't have the greatest shelf life. DVD is far better, so he can't make as much money from just peddling the same thing every decade or so.

Frankly, I find it sad also that they're going the Jones route if that's true. There has EASILY been enough SW stuff to fill at minimum 1 extra disc per movie. Just look at all the junk he's stuck on the new ones!

I'll wait till the offical announcement till I believe anything, though. SW rumours have been going around WAY too many years.

One can always hope that this is a sign that Lucas will release the ORIGINAL series on DVD someday. I'd like to have both.
