definitely either the crystal star or children of the jedi. both will make you stop reading star wars books, which is what you should be aiming for.
kevin j. anderson's books have borderline retarded main characters in them. i suggest avoiding them like the plague, if you actually want to read star wars books.
the only ones i consider good are the timothy zahn ones and most of the x-wing series. the bounty hunter wars are decent too. as is the mara jade one. but then again, i like the anti-hero. (absolutely love tyrion chapters in song of ice and fire, for example)
