DLing from 3D Gamers and they're getting pounded.

Update: Not too crazy about it. I was reading the developer diarypiece at Gamespot and they were talking about the great animation and the opening cinematics are so dopey and clip-ridden (playing as a Twi'lek female - her tentacles disappeared into walls) and the overall look was weak. The Quake 3 engine is really showing it's age, alas.

A friend had the beta and he was raving about it, but I dunno. I never finished Jedi Outcast either. Got real bored with it. Too bad.

Looks about the same as Outcast. Definately dated.

As long as the game is good, that's OK.

Excellent! Outcast was a great game (except for the attention-span deficit disordered anti-puzzle crowd of course). ;)

As for the use of Q3 engine, I'm all for it. It's hella fast and allows for expansive open environments on today's hardware with zero slowdown. And you want 100% fluidity for lightsabre work.

yea it looks pretty good, the higher poly models seem to help. there are problems with how they animate speech and stuff, but its not that big a deal. still looks a lot better to me from what i remember of jedi knight 2.
