In this article Lucas says:
"Essentially, Peter is making three three-hour movies out of one book," Lucas said. "And I'm making nine two-hour movies from one book." Of course, Lucas wrote his own book, but the mythology harkens back to Lord of the Rings. "We discuss it a lot because they are similar in nature," said Lucas.

Does this hint that he might be working on some more Star Wars movies? Cause Ep1-6 still leaves 3 more to go if what he said wasn't mis-quoted?

Every episode except IV has just been made for profits. There's no reason to expect they'd not make episodes 7-20 if there was profit in it...which there is.

check this thread..

basically the show I was talking about had rick and steven speilburg, 2 people closest to lucas, talking about 9 movies. Lucas is quoted as saying he wants to do movies like THX after EP3...probably w/spielburg or similar to minority report stuff...futuristic downfalls of society..etc.

If they do make them, please bring back Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher! They are sequels so it would be possible. Of course I doubt it will happen but it would be so cool.

Are you kidding? The books are timelined right after the fall of the Empire. The actors are near 60 now... it wouldn't work at all. Sort of like Harrison Ford doing another Indiana Jones movie. Give me a break.

who cares where the books are timelined..I bet those readers will still watch ep7-9 in what ever direction it goes. Zahn may have made good stories...but I have never read any expanded star wars stories and have no desire to...
