Star Wars DVD brings in $115 million on first day of release...

Competition for sales led to some amusing battles. One reader told us Fry's Electronics, a west coast retailer, sold the DVD set for $35 on the release date only, infuriating mall-based retailer Suncoast. Customers who had reserved it for $50 at Suncoast were coming in to cancel their order and then heading to Fry's.

i watched the first two of the set last night, and the sound is fantastic. however, some parts of the movie are completely visually fvcked up. the scene in new hope with jabba and han looks AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111one

Source? That has to be more than the original movies cost to produce combined.

Edit: Quite a bit more than the originals cost, even adjusted for inflation.
 
Did you know that they cleaned at least 100 flaws from every frame of each movie? Plus all the time and energy it took to digitize the thing. I'd believe the 300 mil.

Sorry, I got carried away. I saw an opportunity to impress millions with my vast stores of knowledge and well, I feel wrong for what I've done. As penance, I will now insert this carniverous ear wig into my brain...kind of tickles. AAAAAAAH, It's eating the backs of my eyes!! (great Family Guy moment for anyone who's lost) But in reality...it's gold plated or something rediculous like that. Point is, the guy's never going to have to work, he's got enough social security to keep him in good standing for a while. Maybe even free health care for it's people...I dunno, we'll work on that. Until then though, stay tuned until my next random outburst...
