Star Wars Books

Once I can get my ass out of this chair I am going to go skiing. But on my way home I want to stop by boarders and pick up a star wars book. I have no idea where to start, there are so many different books!

Anyone have any suggestions on which I should pick up for the star wars book newbie?

Start with the Thrawn books. Those kick ass.

You could also try the books based on the prequels. They're orders of magnitude better than the movies.

If you like Boba Fett, then these books are awesome:

THE BOUNTY HUNTER WARS:
# The Mandalorian Armor
# Slave Ship
# Hard Merchandise

The Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn was good.

Heir To The Empire
Dark Force Rising
The Last Command

He later wrote two books that were sequels to this trilogy, I read the first one, and didn't feel terribly inspired to read the second one.

These books are epic.
I also enjoyed Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader

i'd definately go with the Zahn books first...they seemed to capture the feeling best in my opinion...the episode III book (lots of info left out of the movie) and then the Dark Lord book are also good.

Another vote for the Zahn trilogy. He's an amazing writer who captures everything a good Star Wars story has and then some.

I've read so many that they all seem to blend together... can anyone tell me which book featured Kyp Duron and the Sun Crusher (or w/e it was called)?
