I was never a huge Battlefront fan. I liked the first 2 well enough, but if they weren't Star Wars themed, I'd have never played them. I will likely pick this up though, as Star Wars is pretty much in the "shut up and take my money again, I've given up resisting the Dark Side no matter how bad it was previously." =(

Here's a first review of the open beta
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0H_u6jiVwA

Personally the lack of single player content is super disappointing, especially when between all current 6 movies there was tons of potential for some great campaign play.

I don't quite understand all the different multiplayer modes just yet, as I'm only used to team deathmatch type multiplayer games. Guess I'll hold off on buying until I see what the initial reviews from IGN and gamespot say.

Has anyone else been playing the open beta? I've given it a few tries, and I'm really not sure what I think. It's essentially what I always said about Battlefield--the games are way too big to make a serious impact as a person. Even in the 8-on-8 mode, you're normally not engaged enough to be the difference. I found myself checking the scoreboard several times in matches to see if the other team had a bunch of people quit, just because there were such long stretches between seeing people. 20-on-20 was just a cluster from hell. We won the one match I played, and I honestly don't know why or how. It was just a game of running around and shooting people off and on and seeing how it ended up with the AT-ATs.

It also doesn't feel very Star Wars-like. You do get a nice array of sounds going on, but visually, everything just kind of gets tuned out when I'm playing. I forget about the visuals of dogfights above me. When I'm fighting against Rebels, I forget they're even Star Wars characters. Reviews said this didn't just play like Battlefield with Star Wars coating, but I think that's inaccurate. It just feels like a shooter where the gun sounds are Star Wars blasters.

That said, the game looks really good, and it handles well. It's not a bad game to play, I just don't know if I care enough to buy it on top of Halo and Fallout, especially since I'll still be going at it hard with Halo when this launches, and Fallout is out a week before this. I don't know that I can find the fine for three games at once, especially when two are multiplayer shooters and the third is a MASSIVE shooter RPG.

After alpha and beta, I think SWBF is bland and shallow, not going to even bother with this and as I said before, I don't have a lot of hope for Battlefield 5.

The same went for Forza--the Season Pass was a monetary joke beyond words. I could just ignore its existence before, but when they took out 60% of the cars in FM4 because of things like disc space and graphical improvements, it looks worse when they manage to churn out the worst-priced DLC in gaming without a hitch.
At least I'm not the only one that thinks about that with FM4, going from a very deep and awesome FM3 to FM4 with over half the cars being required to purchase just straight up annoyed me, I ended up playing FM3 more than FM4 after buying FM4.

That was actually a typo on my part, I meant FM5, with how they went from 500 cars in FM4 to only 200 in FM5. I actually never played FM3, I went from FM2 to FM4.

FM5 was even worse, I don't even know why I picked that game as the free game when I got the XB1.

I got it as part of my college graduation gift. Traded it in for about $35, then re-bought it at $20, then sold it again for about $25. I was trading it in the second time because I was going to get the Racing Game of the Year version, thinking (like every other GotY release), it had all of the DLC. Once I learned they were charging $50-60 for the same game with only 5 of the DLC cars, I decided that game could go die in a fire.

Meanwhile, loving Forza 6, except this Drivatar system. They need a "preferred player" Drivatar system. I have ONE friend who I cant to race against with his Drivatar, but it never puts him in my races. It's irritating.
