I heard someone say today that Bush is more like Rick Moranis's Darth Helmet than James Earl Jones's Darth Vader.

Here's how I see the comparison. (Before you conservatives get your panties in a bunch this is humorous).

The US is the Republic. Everything was nice. There was some strife (trade federation and naboo and 9/11). It was very disturbing but limited. Then the emperor (Wolfowitz) orchestrated a perpetual war (clone wars = iraq war) to destroy the old republic (usa) and its democracy (see diebold machines too).

I know everyone likes Darth Cheney but I think Powell is a better Darth Vader. He used to be good (Powell doctrine / first iraq war) but the emperor pushed him over the edge. I don't know where Bush fits in because he is such a buffoon. He's not impressive enough to be vader. Maybe the guy that gets shot by Han Solo? Cheney is a good Jaba the Hutt mehinks. Where is Luke Skywalker? Kerry was only a weird looking jedi that got defeated in the clone wars alas.

I'd say more like Tim Robbins from Austin Powers, The Spy Who Shagged Me :D I love the few sentences he has.

Besides, Bush and Darth are exactly opposite in the political spectrum. Comparing Darth and Stalin would make hella more sense.

Kerry = Biggs Darklighter (little whiny useless kid)
Rumsfeld = Grand Moff Tarkin (ordered the mass destruction of a planet/Iraq war)
Bush = Darth Vader (perhaps not the ultimate power, but certainly the one appearing to be running the show. also he pwns Biggs)
Ashcroft = Boba Fett (hunt and kill, death to civil liberties as the left says)
Clinton = Obi Wan Kenobi (the last former bastion of Democratic power, but he has passed his time)
Cheney = Emperor Palpatine (no reasons necessary)
???????????? = Luke Skywalker

Intersting comparisons really, I'll think about this one. But those are my initial picks.

Edit: Actually on hindsight, I think I go with Bush = vader after all. I'm also flirting with the Kerry = C3PO idea. He has the personality of a droid.
