She was on for like 3 seasons, then left the show. Why did she leave and whatever happened to her?

She mutated into an energy based lifeform and left to roam the galaxy.

did she mutate or was it a natural evolution for her species??? Granted, with the training that she had received from Tuvok it may have unlocked more of her species natural potential. And she does make a reappearance, in a round-about way :D.

Not a very good episode IMO, of course a lot of people would say that about most Voyager episodes.

this is something I pondered as well, because there was an epsiode (titled "fury" i think) when a Kess from the future (kess as old woman) comes back in time and halps the kazon capture voyager or something because she hated them for opening her mind to her powers or something.. then later in the series she leaves the ship as a ball of light or some sh.it.. so how could she be an old lady Kess who goes back in time if she is a ball of energy instead?

edit - okay now I see you are talking about the episode I am.. but in the episode, Kess goes back and captures the young kess to take her to her home planet.. so the Fury episode had to have aired before she left the ship as energy, right?

agreed, the reappearance episode was a weak showing, but interesting considering the play on time. Overall I did like Kess's character, but they could've done so much more with the show.

on an off note, the dvd series is out for Star Trek the Next Generation, season 1; and season 2 is supposed to be here shortly.

you can find it here if you wantDVD Talk

Personally I like the episode where "Ensign Lindsay Baller" comes back alive..

While I do accept I have a thing for redheads.. i personally fell for her.

I also fell for "Alice" the neural net chick who was part of a space ship that tom was restoring.. she too was gorgeous.

Both women were my kind.

I thought is was something to do with drugs and/or her banging someone else involved with the show (cast\producer)

I remember reading that they were originally going to kick Harry Kim off the show, but the actor appeared as in some magazine as one of top50 sexiest men, so they dumped Kes instead.

Later on she played Davina Vinyard in American History X.

She did a great job in the Voyager episode where she was taken over and was a villain. Great acting.

Jennifer Lien has been in a few movies since quitting Voyager, and has also been lending her voice to some animated cartoons, I think the MIB cartoon was the last one she was with...
