I didn't bother playing the whole game; I just played in Multiplayer mode.

What do I think about it?
It is a cheap imitation of Q3A!!!

I don't care if this game uses the Q3A engine.

Q3A was incredibly well designed; while in Star Trek Voyager Elite Force every single arena is monotonous and boring as hell!!!

Your opinion, which i don't agree with. As opposed to Q3A, which is a perfect example of an engineered game, Voyager is actually fairly well designed and well thought out. Of cource that is my humble opinion.

I totally disagree. The game is not meant to be a multiplayer game, but a single player and MP is just a nice extra.

Try some single player and enjoy the games great story line.

Awesome single player! Too bad it's so short :( Haven't tried MP yet though, I'm expecting around same as Q3, which is still awesome :)

Q3A is simply an engine on which to build real games. The gameplay in Q3A is drab and boring at best. Look to other game developers to put life into the nice engine provided by ID.

I think what ID did was build an engine, toss in some models and maps to demonstrate it, and toss it to mod develpers. Exactally what Valve did with HL, but ID skipped the whole "epic game" thing and just tossed it out there.

Duckers - I know what ya saying, but the guyz are right. You can't compare the two except when you compare DM against DM. DM on EF is not good. I've lost interest in already. SP game is very good though, as that's what it was written for and the developers have pulled it off quite well.

Just for the record, I'm quite bored of Q3A, it's only Rocket Arena 3 that has kept it alive for me. Perhaps when I finally get ADSL Q3A will once again be played everday.

;)

Single player the game is excellent. Yes, the multiplayer stinks, but it was thrown in as an extra. You don't even run the multiplayer from the same shortcut:p

Man this game is short! I'm into the sixth episode and have only played a few short nights. I'll prolly rub it out in the next sitting. It's been good but I sure would've felt chapped if I'd paid for it. Should have been $20 MAX!

Shagga,

I was comparing DM against DM.

As I said, I didn't even bother playing the game.

Well then that's your loss because the single player part is better than the MP. There's more to life than MP you know.

well, I thought SP was pretty good. After spending 2 long months playing deus ex, it seemed pretty shallow and you were too limited in where you could explore and so forth.

it wasnt meant to be a MP game as much as SP. I beat it in about 3 days with little playing time. I was not happy about that to say the least, especially since I have never come close to beating a game in that little time and having paid 40 bucks for it. half life was probably the shortest game ive played and that took me 2 solid weeks of pretty heavy play to beat.

so I took it back and got my money back from EB....well within their 10 day return policy.

Thats not right. If you played the game and beat it, you own it. Why should EB have to lose money because you beat it too quick? What are you cheap?

The longest game I ever played was Unreal.

Everything is shorter than that.

Half-Life was close though. Especially if you spend time sightseeing.

well doomguy, youre entitled to your opinion and thats cool, but I know better. this product is not worth 40 bucks. Raven touted this as a single player game and thats why I bought it. yes, I played all the way through, but how was I supposed to know I would beat it that quickly? I was just playin along and then it was over and I was like "huh? thats it?" I beat this game in about 3 or 4 days and im a guy who usually takes his time with games, thats just unacceptable. I was well within my rights to return this game. and im not cheap! ;)

duckers, HL wasnt short, but 2 weeks is pretty short for me to beat a game. like system shock 2 took me about a month, deus ex about 2, etc.

I've opnly played EF for a few hours, but I think the single player is good so far. I actually don't mind the MP, though. It was a nice bonus and it's nice to have something a little different now and then.

I thought it was pretty decent, not the best ever, but definitely didn't suck. A Q3A is little more than an "expensive imitation of Quake2. I read in an article that someone at ID took a cheap shot at Monolith for becoming an engine-design only company, but ID is pretty much the same thing.

Took me about 2 months to beat Half-Life (3-4 nights a week, 1-2 hrs. a night) and Deus Ex to me about (27-30 hours spread over seven weeks).

Shortest games were Opposing Force (10-12 hours, huh?) and Elite Force (looks to be 8-10 hours).

Some people don't have time for 80-hour SP games. That's why I liked Q3, UT and Motocross Madness 2. You can fire it up, play for 20-30 minutes at a time and then bail.

Jeez...it took me less than 45 minutes more to wrap it up.

When you hit a ammo dump and suddenly all your weapons charge to 1000 instead of the usual 300, you can just smell the END BOSS coming.

Waaaaaay to damn short. Shortest game I've ever played.
