I was soo disappointed with this movie. it's not anywhere near as good as the earlier star trek movies.

this franchise is dead.

It's probably because you went into it with the mindset that it would be boring, so you looked for anyway to make it happen (basic psycology).

actually, not.

i wouldn't have paid $4.00 ondemand if i thought it would be boring.

i paid for it because i thought it would be worth watching.

i was just surprised at how bad the acting was, brent spiner really got on my nerves and does he have to sing at EVERY opportunity?

overall it just wasn't a great film.

I liked it. It helped that the DVD picture and sound quality is first rate and looks almost HD on my bigscreen. :)

I liked it too. It was definitely better than Insurrection which seemed like just another TV episode of TNG.

I could definitely see how they were trying to make it more action packed like the Wrath of Khan.

In all honesty the TNG crew hasnt made a really good star trek movie (First Contact was close but still not good). They need to get the DS9 cast in there or better yet get away completly from the Star Trek TV case and get a dedicated movie cast....

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

for those that haven't seen it yet.

So, Data gives his "life" to save the crew.

what is this a remake of Spock giving up his life? what's next, they are going to go on a mission to restore Data for the next film?

comon, without Roddenberry the Star Trek franchise is DEAD DEAD DEAD.

I've never been a Star Trek fan really - never seen the show or anything. I was bored and some friends were going to see it so I tagged along. It was the worst movie I have ever seen. The three friends I went with all hated it too - 1 friend wasn't into Star Trek either the other 2 however loved it but still hated the movie.

I liked it. I didn't love it, but I liked it.

I agree about TNG cast never living up to potential in the movies. TNG is far and away my favorite Star Trek cast, but the movies have never equalled Wrath of Khan or Search for Spock.

Once TNG stops making movies, I'm probably through watching Star Trek for good. I never got into Deep Space 9, PC Trek, or the new series with Quantum Leap dude.

They should have killed Will Riker, then brought him back to life and forced him to sit in a room and watch his own horrid acting for 5 years.

Then kill him again.
