I've read that this is the last Star Trek movie that will be made and w/ it's recent release on DVD, I'd like to hear some opinions from my fellow ATOT members if it's worth the purchase for my collection, please don't post any spoilers, thanks 🙂

Definately. If you like Star Trek then you should love this movie.

I don't necessarily know if it will be the last Trek Movie, or if it will just be the last movie with The Next Generation cast. Either way it sucks if your a Star Trek fan.

It's okay. It felt more like one long episode than a feature film though.

I've heard that the extra's make the DVD release worth the purchase price, but looking at the film alone, it it worse than any of the Star Trek movies w/ THG cast?

No, it's still a good movie. I think it would be worth it to buy it.

A lot of non-trekkies and casual star trek watchers liked it, but a lot of hardcore trekkies didnt like it. The story in particular had too many plot holes (some random guy gets a uber-ship, etc).

I heard that it was going to be the last movie with TNG's crew... Now they are thinking of a DS9 🙂D) or a Voyager (noes!) movie.

nah... they gotta find a way to tie it all in together.
The first TNG film had some of the origional cast in it. I bet the next film will be based off of DS9 (or Voyager) but will still have some (if not all) of the TNG crew. They gotta make the movies blend together, the next movie may not have the TNG crew as it's primary focus

Worst Star Trek movie ever. And sadly most trekkies will agree with that sentiment.

I'm a big time trekkie, and i liked this movie. It also apeals more to a general audience because it's not complete with techno-bable like the other Next Gen movies. It helps that the director was not a star trek fan until he started this movie, so he was just making an action movie.

A DS9 movie whould be schweet, but they'd have to come up with a damn good reason for Sisco to come back from the wormhole aliens.

A voyager movie would suck, as Janeways been promoted to Admiral(belch) and the actual ship is a piece of crap compared to anything it would encounter in the Alpha quadrant. And the only person on the crew that would have any type of big screen presence would be Robert Beltran(Commander Chacotay)

Just rented it thought it was great, lots of space battle action😀

I'd rather see a "Star Blazer's" Film "Prepare to Fire the wave motion Gun!"

I don't know what this guy is talking about...because it was explained that the evil dude built the ship. The only problem I had with it was that is took a lot from previous Star Trek episodes. The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country to be specific. But then again...those movies were kick ass too. I say go for it.

Rented it last weekend, I thought it was good but I'm not a trekkie. The extras were cool, deleted scenes and some other things. They could do another TNG movie after this, but you'd have a couple of key characters missing (unless they could do something with the new android which is not very bright to say the least).

Be sure to watch the deleted scenes on the DVD. The last deleted scene is perhaps most important as we are introduced to Riker's replacement.
