Star Trek: Legacy

it ships today, most people wont have it till tomorrow.
however I have read the strategy guide already and it looks good.

Yeah, I was hoping there'd at least be some reviews by IGN or Gamespot by now...

Ah well, just have to wait then. Last ST game I played was SFC3. 😀

well it was supposed to be released nov 7, then pushed back to nov 21, then pushed to dec 5, who knows. i'm looking forward to playing this game on the xbox.

Supposedly shipping now for the PC, I'm still surprised that there are absolutely no reviews up on Gamerankings. I may just have to be the sacrificial lamb so that others may be enlightened about its greatness, or suckiness...

There's one rant review of the PC version in the ArsTechnica gaming forum saying it's dumbed-down and boring with bad controls.

Ah damn, I just looked at the guy's review on arstechnica. So disappointing.

I could see myself furiously clicking while the two ships circle each other in a mindless game of "who has the shorter turning radius?" and "what's the probability that my weapons will hit?"

I guess I'll pass.

Crap. Everything seems to point at the game sucking 🙁 I was looking foeward to it. I need a new next-gen ST game 🙁

i have totally given up on any good ST game coming out

i'm even bored with ST Armada and Armada 2. You can try to find Starfleet Command which is serious strategy

Armada 2 rocked. Why didnt they make a 3rd one? I had tons of fun with armada 2.

I had starfleet command III, and that was pretty fun. Anyone still play it online? I remember everyone moving to some kinda mod a few years ago, that still the case?

If you don't have an XBox 360 controller, don't even THINK about getting this game. I played one level and was ready to chuck it in the garbage. It was that bad. Then I found out that you could use the gamepad, and now it is playable. I would give it a 6/10. Nothing revolutionary or new in the game, really. Also, they used a FPS type environment for a 3d sim which ticks me off. Basically, keep flying your ship up and you should be able to spin around and fly the other direction upside down, right? Nope. You can fly almost straight up and then it stops. REALLY sucks. This alone is enough to kick the developers in the balls over.

I played SFCIII with the Generations mod. I really only tried it to play around with the modded Excalibur class ships. You could load that thing up with massive weaponry and still keep it agile enough that it didn't have a planetary sized turning radius.

Not every trek game is bad, just 9 out of 10 🙂

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force was a fun if easy FPS.

Heh, I remember that game. I just liked finally being able to use a phaser on something. 😀

that was a pretty good one. I enjoyed running around on the Borg cube, very movie-like.

started playing on the x360. my gawd the controls are awful. everything is so f'in counterintuitive. and no cinematics, just voiceovers with pans of ships in space. i usually put up with most bad trek games, but the developers should be ashamed they released this piece of crap.

I havn't played it, but I watched the videos for it on IGN a few weeks ago. The game looked like a boring overpriced franchise piece of sh!t. It looks like my thoughts were confirmed... I love AT Forums. Straight dope... 😀
