I know this is an enthusiast forum with a preference for bleeding-edge technology; but this is the game thats been taking up a lot of my free time.
I got kind of bored with vanilla Sins of a Solar Empire awhile back, but being a mild fan of Star Trek and a huge RTS gamer, this mod is easily on my list of favorites.

The game is on sale on Steam! (Until January 2nd)

Not really looking for any people to play with, as the online community is very active with this mod! But if there are any Trekkies itching to see their favorite ships in action, I can easily recommend this game.
ModDB also hosts several great mods for Sins, but STA3 takes the cake IMO.
Sins does have some performance issues. It needs the Large Address Awareness patch for it to use more than 2gb of RAM (no more crashing), and needs all the single-threaded performance you can throw at it.
