Installing Star Trek Online (the MMO) might be an even better deal at $0.

It's F2P, and you can do pretty much all of the content without spending any money. The ground combat is a little weak (but not awful). The space combat is fun.

You can play all of the story content (stories for Feds, Klingons and Romulans) solo, no need to be social unless you want to.

nice find OP - may be a good time to try Dark Souls for the PC. At $10 it's a small investment. Does this game require GFWL as well?

Mini-review: I've played two hours so far and have enjoyed it, but it's not without major faults, notably the animation of the characters is very stiff (it always seems like your character doesn't walk into a room, but barges in at full speed), you sometimes can run through NPC.

On the upside, the voice acting is well done and the level designs are great to look at and the music score captures the vibe of Star Trek quite well. Is it worth $3.74? I think it is, opinions may very.

Bad news, DS uses GFWL, ST uses Steam achivements....
