This one is pretty frustrating. I haven't touched this game in a long time, before I got the 2 x 6950 setup, but now I fired it up again, cranked all the gfx to max and started playing.

Well in the campaign mode it seems that when loading a new mission the game will just stop doing anything during the load. The audio will begin to stutter, or just repeat itself in a broken loop for a while and the CPU cores all drop down to 1% or nothing basically.

When I reach this stage, Ctrl-Alt-Del takes a very long time to respond. There have been situations where I basically ahd to power cycle the PC to get it back.

Usually if I let it sit there long enough, for anywhere from 2-5 minutes, it will eventually pick back up again and load the map. During the gameplay itself I also have occasional issues such as these, but not nearly as often. When teh game is playing without issues it runs flawlessly, but these problems are very frustrating.

If I quit out of the level and try to reload it then I don't have problems, it loads back up in about 10 seconds or so.

Could Crossfire potentially cause this problem? I haven't tried disabling it yet, but I'm running out of ideas aside from that one. Any thoughts?

I never had any issues playing this game with my old gforce 260 but I also never maxed out the gfx with that game.
