Star Control 2!

lets talk about this game. Currently i'm trying to get the thing to work on my PC, but i may have to give up and just play the 3do version, requiring me to buy a 3do and the game, but I hear the 3do version is actually better than the PC version. Anyone have any input on this? The 3do one has voice acting for all the aliens, i'm wondering if it is any good, anyone played the 3do one? I remember playing the 2 player combat game some when i was about 11, but I never really played the one player game and I really want to now.

I thought it was star control 3 on the 3do? Anyway, that one is the best, period.

But on the PC, the best one is running the Sega Genesis Star Control 2 in emulation. It's not as in depth as the one for the PC (in quest mode), but the graphics are as good if not a bit better and it has the best joystick control (I use GENS for emulation) and it's easy to get two players hooked up with gamepads for head to head.

So find a sega emulator you like and get the genesis rom. Good luck, this one is a favorite of mine. Oh, and I think there's a new vector based port of SC2 (flash or java, I think) that lets you play head to head over the internet out there somewhere, but the speed was fubar last time I tried it and it wasn't all that hot. Stick with the sega.

I have the 3do version, and it definitely rules. IIRC, it was supposed to have redone voices and graphics, making it better than the PC version.

yeah, the one on 3do is star control 2, i'll have to check out the genesis game.
