Everyone should probably read this link, especially if you game with headphones.

https://as.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/41zkdh/psa_very_loud_distorted_noise/

Does anyone else get annoyed by the fact that important news/information is often released by CIG in other places (like reddit) and not on their own website?

Maybe it's just me, but it pisses me off. I don't want to have to search around for SC news. It should all be the SC website. The above is a great example.

The thread is also on their website. They're just spreading links around to raise awareness.

I was just selling this as a positive to a coworker in the form of 'their dev team is incredibly engaged with the customer, going as far as to post directly to reddit, etc in an effort to stay on top of bugs, etc. "

One thing I do like about the CIG main site is that you can scroll down to "Latest Developer Activity" and see all RSI forum posts by CIG employees.

That was revealed at Citizencon back in October. You should look up the SQ42 cast list if you haven't seen it yet.

I'm so new to this scene that I don't think I've ever felt so ignorant is sooo long. Even with constantly reading blogs, forums, watching videos.. I still have constantly obvious stuff going over my radar.

edit: the video is new at least..

Knowing everything about Star Citizen is akin to knowing absolutely everything about Harry Potter, Pokemon, Naruto, Tolkien, Marvel & DC.

Has anybody fired missiles from an Avenger? I see 4 mounted, but for the life of me I can't get them to lock/fire. I can do it fine in the tutorial with the trainer ship...

I have not experienced any problems firing missiles from the Avenger. They don't do sh*t, but I can still fire them :)

Double check what your keybindings are. There are two for missiles, one for lock and one for launch. They can be the same button because lock is a quick press and launch is hold. They should just combine them into one function, TBH.

Thanks. I know it 'can' happen, because I was goofing around outside the security port (FPS area.. forget the name). I was just kinda looking around trying to work out how my radar works, and I accidently locked on and blew up another player. I have no idea how it happened though. Definitely wasn't the keybindings I thought I had, and haven't been able to launch one since.

Sure you didn't. Griefer.

Got my T16000M! Been flying with it and while it took a bit of a learning curve, it's already starting to feel much more natural to me. My friend has an old Saitek X52 that I've been using but the stick does not work well at all. So right now I'm using the T16000M and the throttle from the X52. I considered going dual stick but there's just something about having an actual throttle, it's more immersive for me. So for now I'm saving up for a CH Throttle. I guess I need the pedals to really complete the set, it would be perfect for forward and backwards strafing.

Edit: Err, I just played some AC with a Connie. I didn't know that was possible? It said my selected ship was a Vanguard but when the game loaded I was in a Connie. For a second I thought they completely re-did the Vanguard's interior! Vanduul were absolutely melting from the 4 M6A lasers!

I really like the idea of dual stick =) It feels so right because they're mirrored. I treat my left stick as the throttle, and I made the left/right axis a dead zone so I don't have to perfectly push forward or backward.. yet I still retain ability to twist it and use the hat/thumb buttons.

edit: dual t16000m's. still on the fence about getting pedals.

Just read the RtV highlights. Looks like insurance really is a non-existent mechanic. Even 3 months might as well be LTI as it is really going to be in game hours:

Regarding time duration of insurance – current plan is it’s based on play time, not real time. 6 months of real time – January to June, it’d be how many hours you’re putting into the game. You don’t get penalised for taking a break.
Also, insurance doesn’t matter. It’s not a way to punish anyone.

Lots of other interesting bits in the summary at INN:

http://imperialnews.network/2016/01/reverse-the-verse-episode-78-liveblog/

Things that stood out to me:

  • Hull series isn't be worked on yet
  • Xi'an scout is on sale again to celebrate X-Files
  • Saitek peripherals go on sale soon, first 2000 of the low end stick will be sold on RSI and will be autographed by CR
  • Cutlass rework progress to be shown soon
  • Carrack and BBM the priority after SQ42 ships
  • Caterpillar is progressing nicely
  • Instance queing is in the plans for the future

Yup. It doesn't look like an airplane
The fact that it does not have wings was one of the first things that came into my mind when I saw this image of the Starfarer spaceship.

Regarding looks: it looks like a turtle.
