They are having sales on the staples 25pack DVD_+R for $7.86..
They ran out of Staples brand, so they are substituting it with Sony 25pack...

B&M..

Hmm. Now if we knew who made the Staples DVD -R and +R, and the Sony -R and +R, and if they were substituing both varieties, that would be helpful too. Any chance of getting T-Ys out of this somehow?

I bought 2 of the 8X Staples DVD-R (SKU 560847). According to SMARTBURN Media Checker:

Drive Type = DVD DUAL
Disc Type = DVD-R (Single Layer)
Disc MID = 46 55 4A 49 46 49 (FUJIFI)
Disc TID = 4C 4D 30 33 00 00 (LM03..)
Nominal Capacity = 4.38GB
Manufacturer Maybe = FUJI Photo Film Co., Ltd.
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 8.0X (Write)

Staples 8x -R were FUJIFILM03? Hot! Did the package say "Made in India", or "Made in Japan"?
Edit: maybe not so hot, some people apparently had trouble with that media. link Still should be better than MBI media. I guess it depends on whether or not your burner supports that media-id code well or not.

my staples still has a whole bunch of the Staples branded discs.

8 bucks for 25 is okay I guess, but not too sure if i want to plunk down.

Heh, those Teon +R.... I have some that are 4X speed and some newer 8X ones and my Xbox's Thompson DVD drive reads them fine. I have to add that is the crapiest drive out there for Xboxs. So, I couldn't imagine those being too bad. They play in all the DVD players I have used too. I do like staples for these handy deals!

What program you guys using for the media? I will be sure to check these out!

Thanks for the heads-up! $7.94 here in Colorado Springs and the substitute is Memorex. -R are only 4X, but the +R are 8X (Centennial store, BTW).

I bought an $8 25 pack of Staples DVD-R's yesterday and they are also FUJIFILM03's. I'm probably going to go get antoher pack today.
