Just some deals I noticed in the clearance at staples (most of the clearance software is 4.99-7.99):

$4.99 3 pack - trivial pursuit (4000 questions), boggle, yahtzee
**** Got it for yahtzee .. my alltime favorite time waster ****

$4.99 3 pack - Mech commander gold, civilzation II, worms 3: Arm
****Worms 3 alone is well worth 5 bucks if you don't have it****

$4.99 Alone in the Dark : The new nightmare

$4.99 Fast Food Tycoon

$4.99 Alien vs Predator Gold Edition

$7.99 Madden 2001

$4.99 MP3 Maker

$4.99 Partition Magic 5.0 (said new version 5.0 but only supoprts 95/98???)

There was also a multipack with a printshop program (forgot name but it was a famous one) and 100000 clip art for $8. Lots of redneck style games and printshop style programs.

LOL. Partition Magic is up to the version 8 now. MP3 maker? Hehe. Sorry mate, but buying software at Staples is just helping the fat bastards there get even fatter. I say, instead of buying software there, bring YOUR software there and drop it on their doorstep!

MP3 maker isn't all that old and is more than good enough for encoding. PArtition magic is kinda old... weird seeing it there.. but if you have win98, it could be invaluable for 4.99. I'm guesing it's only a fat 32 copy and not ntfs. I don't know what kind of updates partition magic gets for free. As for the games, those are great prices on all those games. I've been playingthe yahtzee and it's actually quite nice. It's got 5 different yahtzee versions in it with some decent graphics. It's worth $1.66 for me to have it. Trivial pursuit and boggle should be fun during holiday season with family over a lot. I haven't looked at internet capabilities on any of the games but that would make them neater. Alone in the dark... didn't the original win a buttload of best game awards ?

My staples had a few things out the other day....THere was a Netgear wireless pci nic for ~$40, and a cam for palm pilots/notebooks for $20...not sure if those prices are any good though.

Another bump...

One more add...

Empire Earth, in the big box... $4.50

The smaller boxed version was marked $49.99, don't know what the scanned price would be.
This was at the Staples in Brandon, FL. There was one other copy left in the clearance rack.

Office Depot B&M in Houston, TX has a couple of nice software titles, and of course YMMV and different stores different software sales.
the one on Westheimer had Norton Systemworks Pro for $25 - $30 upgd rebate (good thru 12/31) = you make $5 :)
also Dragon Naturally Speaking deluxe for $20, voice Xpress $10
OD on I-10 has MAdden 2002 $3.77, Legion $3.77, NetNAnny $0.77 etc etc

I picked up the big box versions o' Diablo II & Diablo II expansion for Christmas gifts for $4.99/ea. (Tulsa, OK Staples on 71st) I wouldn't have known, though, if it weren't for AT detectives hard at work. I got those a couple weeks ago and I'd read the thread probably a week or two before that. I would imagine that things are pretty thin at this point. Probably doesn't hurt to look, tho'.

BTW- the small box versions o' D2/D2X were both regularly priced. Think they're just making space on the shelves.
