Staples Reward Certificate.... Hmmmmm

I got a $5 Staples reward certificate for spending over $150 using my business rewards...

Problem is, the item i bought sucks and i need to return it...

Do i get the certificate back? Or am i out the $5?

According to the receipt, it took the certificate as a coupon.

Huh? I already gave them the certificate...

The item was $10 - $5 certificate (which i gave them) = I paid $5

However, the cable i bought is utter crap and i want to return it.

You should get store credit for the amount.
