Hey, I have a few questions about this:

First off, someone said I can get them to not include the S&H prices the other company has. Also, when can they pricematch? I just called now and they said they can't do a pricemath for 2 days because some company was closed so they cant check the manufacture's number!! Since this is a while in-stock deal saving me about 600+ (the ibm monitor) I really want this before the deal goes out!! Any suggestiosn?

Staples is a challenging place to get a pricematch from. If you are unable to get the match from one CSR, call back later and hope you get a different person. I had to do this a number of times before it worked properly.

About the S&H, I got lucky once because they forgot to add it. The other time, the place that I was matching had free shipping, so they also used free shipping. If the company doesn't list free shipping, you will be charged for it.

They no longer require rebates be offered by Staples.com for them to be taken into consideration. For example, the old policy made it so if Staples had a Scanner for $100 and was offering a $50 rebate, they wouldn't pricematch a company offering the scanner for $50. Now with the visor (and I had the same experience), they claim that the rebate offered by Handspring is the same as Staples.com offering a rebate, so they refuse to pricematch the lower price (in this case, Target's for $199). The thing is, I checked their pricematch policy before I called last night (wanted to make sure I still qualified, as I already purchased mine), and it never says rebates offered by third parties (handspring) must be factored in before the pricewatch. You could *try* getting them to point it out to you, but I doubt they'd bite.

I hope thats easy to follow :). They will pricematch up to 14days after the fact (but don't bet on it, you may not end up getting iit, especially if lots of people try_. If the PM is really going to cost them, they will usually require some formal proof from the company, which would account for the waiting for the other company to be open.

Oh, and kudos for knowing the right place to ask this :D

Hehehe, see, I /havent/ ordered yet from them. I'm calling them to get hte pricematch and order first. My worry is that I'd rather pay the $20 that i would save w/ the code w/ the other guys if Staples is going to make me wait till they run outta stock. In which case, I will be soo pissed off... Hey, you think if I called them again and if they say they can't pricematch it till monday, you think I could get them to acknowledge that the competitor does have it in stock today, despite what the status is on Monday?

My advice with pricematching is, keep trying. At Staples.com, it seems like every CSRs tell a different story. I don't know who explains them the rules of pricematching but it'll almost always be different all the time. Keep trying.
