Then how come you did not post it? In other words keep your fat mouth shut unless you have something useful to add to this, otherwise you are nothing more than a thread crapper!!!!

yep

Thanks! Im planning on getting the I/O magic 16x dual layer internal dvd burner for $40 AR and using my rewards check to bring it down to $24. Probably pick up the DVD media for $4.94 and a couple of the FAR things.

Most of the Norton items I beleive are free with a tax program purchase as the 40.00 rebate is on the box from the tax program. I am waiting for Internet security FAR and it states in the ad free with tax program purchase as when you click on the IS image it takes you to the tax program. I got the flyer in my e-mail to look at

I bought the I/O magic 16x DVD burner today, and it is neither a BenQ or a BTC, it's an Optorite DD1601. Anyone know about this drive, I found a few posts around the web that say it's pretty good.

The label on the box says that, or the label on the drive itself? On my drive, the label says "Accesstek Inc. Model No.: DD1601
It says this near the bottom left of the sticker on the top of the CD Drive.

The I/O Drive with the MagicSpin IDVD16DD label is a rebadged BTC 1016IM. That is what I picked up today. Some people hate this drive but plan to hook it up and use it for awhile before I make my decision.

The label is on the drive itself. The firmware is A07M which is a BTC naming style for their firmware. I'm planning on keeping and using it before I form any opinions on it.

I bought I/O Magic DVD Burner and Maxtor 200GB HD today but returned the burner after finding out it's BTC.

The good part of my story is that I got $89.99 credited instead $69.99 for the burner. I don't know if it was because of the Staple system having the wrong amount or because of a stuid casher reading the price of the hard drive ($89.99) instead.

Anyway, my 200GB HD is ging to end up to be $39.99 AR + tax (score!!).

Shhhh, don't say things like that -- you're giving me buyer's remorse...

Good luck w/ your BTC. It seems that they have improved their quality in the last couple of years so it may work well. I have had bad experience with my BTC 4X DVD+-R/W drive, which is now in my wife's computer (she never burns DVD). I would rather spend $20 - 30 more and buy an NEC or Pioneer for my system, which currently has 4X Sony.

That hard drive is tempting, but it only has a 1 yr. warranty & I haven't had good luck with Maxtor drives in the past, tho I must say their customer service department did an outstanding job with my RMA's. Of course, i'm sure many are thinking "so what if it only has a year warranty...it's only $60 AR".

That drive is actually a rebadged Cyberdrive DX162D and can be flashed directly to there firmware. It is actually a very good drive, comperable to a Benq 1620. It in built on the same Phillips chipset and has about the same feature set, at least when used with the Cyberdrive firmware.

I picked up the Logitech LX500 wireless keyboard and mouse. I've never had a wireless setup before but figured for $30 AR, I couldn't go wrong.

Anyone else using this setup? The price is good but how about the gear?

I guess I lucked out with the drive, I found out that the Optorite/Accesstek DD1601 is the same as the Cyberdrive DX-162, which is a really good drive. I updated the firmware to 140F and have burned 6 good DVD-R's with no coasters. And this is with the 100 4x DVD-R I picked up at CompUSA yesterday for $15 in their 6-hour sale.
