Staples Coupons

Anyone know what is up with the staples cupons? I just tried to use one and the CSR told me that unless I knew where I got it from I can't use it, because they are only for specific customers. Should I just call back and try to get a different one, or just not order from staples at all?

Why don't you order the item online and use the coupon there. I just did and it worked fine?

It depends a lot on the csr. I called this morning and ordered the 30Gb Maxtor drive. When I tried to apply a coupon she said that I had already used it, I said oh and rattled off another one which she took no problem. It seems to me that she must have figured I was reading coupon codes off of a website and not leafing through a bunch of postcards that Staples had sent me directly.

Yep, all depends on the csr. If you happen to be a bit anal, you could write down the codes on individual 3x5 cards and audibly flip through them, "looking for codes". Heh.
