I placed an order for the Maxtor ATA/100 controller card on 29th to go with my 40Gb and to get the $50 rebate. I never received an Email confirmation so I called up - Was told its out of stock we will ship it as soon as its in.

Today (Dec 2) I called up to see if it was back yet.....I was told my order had been cancelled, apparently they do this automatically if your item is out of stock for 3 days !!!

Those of you who are waiting for Drives or cards may want to call them.

Now for the good news ...Tonight I went to my local Staples B&M, got a card - Pricematched Onvia for $41.50....spent another $10 on "stuff" then used the Staples.com $20 off 50 code.

Ka-ching ! Now to mail off my rebate form......

How you guys get the coupon to work on a b&m staples. Everytime i give them the code that say that you have to have the actual coupon to get the discounts and the manager said the coupons from the email are only good at staples.com

Hey Murpheeee,

How do you you use coupons at B&M Staples?

Do you give them a number or can I actually print out or get a physical coupon.

I plan on being at Staples first think tomorrow.

I curse the day I found this forum!:)

Staples sends them to you on post cards. So far, the best postcard they have sent me is $40 off $150. I think that is the one they send people who have ordered before, but for some reason, never ordered again for a long time. Since for some reason I keep losing my Staples log in password ;), I have to make a new account each time I order, so I get lots of those postcards. No, I can't snail any. They are put to good use. :)

It seems to depend to which cashier you get in the store. First time I went to the store I just had the code written on a piece of paper, got some old hag who said they needed the actual coupon.

So I went home and printed off a page saying something like Here is your Staples.com coupon code, use at checkout for $20 off $50...expires 12/31/00....nothing fancy

Went back, got a different cashier and they entered it without even questioning it. They don't need the coupon, they just type the 5 digit code in their register and it comes off......but I guess it depends who you get.....call your local stores and ask if they accept staples.com coupons first...it is apparently at manager's disgression. I have 3 stores near me....one does, one does not.
