Has anyone else had troubles in email exchanges with Staples? Some months ago, I had problems with a delayed order, emailed them 5 or 6 times, and finally went to a store and cancelled the order. I always got responses, but the responses had little to do with what I had written.
Yesterday, I sent them a price match from buy.com. Today (unlike yesterday) that item is temporarily out of stock at buy.com, so Staples rejected the match, which is fine. But, I've since sent them 3 additional messages with a different price match from another vendor (actually cheaper than the original one) and Staples keeps on responding by saying that buy.com is out of stock so they won't price match. I swear that either (a) these people can't or won't read, or (b) they are deliberately trying to avoid the price match. I'm sure their people are told to deal with things quickly but spending 2 seconds actually reading a 3 sentence message would save a lot of my time and theirs. Makes me wonder if they are told to be unresponsive in the hope that people will just quit trying.
Staples has a great price match policy, but if it is this much trouble to take advantage of it I'll go elsewhere.
