I presume that since this coupon code was published in the Washington Post today (back page of Business section) that it's okay to publicly post it here...

Code: 91051, expires 10/22/00

Actually, Staples could offer free supermodels with a coupon, and people on this forum (including the Mod Nazis) would rather scream lock the post or ban the user.

Anyway, you might want to remove the coupon number. E-mail Fatwallet.com and techb@rgains.com, and they'll put it out on their sites. Much more useful in the grand scheme of things. It will help mods not have to invoke and act on their violent upbringing in catholic school and all . . . 😉

Usually people first ask the mods for permission before posting a coupon (whether it be legit or not) since it's my understanding that no coupon postings are allowed.

Funny post Smoot 🙂

Not allowing coupon postings for a coupon such as this is completely asinine. The Washington Post has a far greater readership than AnandTech.

I agree with everything posted here....especially the "completely asinine" part.

Those were my very words.

I would tend to agree with the mods on this one, as the posting of coupon codes is borderline legal and ethical.

Plus, if you can't find the damn code, you shouldn't be buying stuff online. 'Nuff said.

Personally, I cannot think of a better way to publish something to the general public than putting it in the Washington Post, which has one of the largest readerships of any newspaper in the country. If Staples is doing that, they are trying to generate interest and business by granting discounts. If that is their intent, "publishing" the number on AnandTech is like giving Staples free business and advertisement.

Hey, they should pay US. 😀

So. Umm. Pricematch the FPS2000 speakers to Buy.com and get it for:
109.75
-30
------
79.75 + shipping

Ever so tempting. I'd just have to get rid of the 25disc mini-system I currently use as my speaker system. Hmmmmmmmmm..

What part of no coupon codes don't you understand??? Do you want Anandtech to get sued like all those other web sites that post coupon codes? ;-)

<sarcasm mode off>

i think coupon codes better off at other sites... anandtech wants to stay out of legal issues... 🙂

iluvdeal...if you actually KNEW what you were talking about, no other sites have ever been sued by staples for posting codes.

Theres a little thing called your first amendment right to free speech which would make such a suit silly

Other sites, such as fatwallet.org not only allow posting coupon codes, they are STAPLES AFFILIATES!! and they regularly have Staples banners on their pages, with even more discount codes! just look at yahoo.co, sometime, they often appear there!

Staples STUPID policy of not honoring coupon codes from bulletin boards is ridiculous, as right now there are THOUSANDS of ad banners in cyberspace offering staples coupon codes, promoted by Staples. They try to get the coupons out to as many people as possible, then hassle some websites for allowing people to discuss them....ridiculous
