This isn't in the ad, but Staples.com has a Hanns-G 21.6" LCD for $190AR + free shipping. The $30 off $150 coupons stack on this deal too. I bought one myself, and I'll be slapping on my HDTV tuner through the HDMI to make it my bedroom TV. I just might get a new DVD player with HDMI too, or maybe just play DVDs from the laptop through VGA.

Search for SKU 725240, model HG-216DPB.

It appears they actually shipped my keyboards/mice. Now the question is will they be Laser or will they try to slip in Optical like on BF.

I sauntered into our local Staples today, and asked the earnest young salesman if they had the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 in stock. "Oh no!" he said, "We're all sold out." I asked if I could speak with the manager. The manager came out a little while later and said, "I can help you *if* you are not looking for the Microsoft keyboard." I asked if he would give me the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave instead. He said he would be happy to do that, but they were out of that too. He then paused for a little while and said he could check if it was available online.

He took my credit card, and ordered the Logitech (orig. 79.98) for $14.98 plus tax. Gave me the receipt and said it would be delivered to my home day after tomorrow!

So, tomorrow or day after, I need to go and make them price match the MS Wireless Desktop 4000 I bought online last Saturday. At this price, I don't mind having one of each kind. :)

The laser mouse in the MS set is horrendous. The scroll wheel has no "click" on it at all. It's completely rubbery smooth. PITA for FPS games IMO.

That's how my 5000 series mouse is, and it takes getting used to. I don't play PC games though, so can't comment on that. It just seems smoother now...

I agree. That's a great price, but I can't stand the new layout some KBs have with the huge delete key instead of the 2x3 key layout (Ins/Del/Hm/End/PgUp/PgDn).

...

Some idiots (IMO) decided that the old 2x3 layout wasn't good. I HATE all the new keyboards out that don't have the old layout. Even Logitech is messing it up. I should hoard the next keyboard I find with the old 2x3 layout.

I was interested in the APC until I read the reviews. Seems like all negative reviews except the ones posted by 'verified purchasers'. How odd is that? :p

How did you get CC to sell to you for $8.50 each when the Staples deal was for $14.95?

Amen.. I won't let go of my old Logitech Elite. You'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

And what's the m.o.? Do you bring in the Staples ad or tell them about the online ad and have them look it up? Or do you print the page off Staples site? Talking about price matching at CC. I've been to Staples, checked them out online, called Staples several times and am getting pessimistic that I will score this through Staples. Fry's is many miles away but CC is a 15 minute bike ride from me. TIA for help.

Have you tried WalMart? I was able to get a price match pretty easy there. They are carrying the exact same sku.

Circuit City's price match policy is 110% of the difference and the staples deal is $65 dollars off so $6.50 dollars off of 14.95 or so at circuit city.

I just brought in the Staples ad and they price matched it no questions asked, didn't call to check stock or anything just refunded my money.

I went to CC for a price match but they called staples unfortunately. However staples did give me a rain check.

I'm sick and tired of trying to get that deal with the MS keyboard/mouse:

Went into one Staples, and told to call them back next day at noon, I did.

They said call back 6 hours later.

I did and was told to call 3 days later at noon.

I did, and had to call back after they unloaded the truck, another 2 hours.

They told me nope, and gave me the number of another staples.

I called them and they had me call another, who their system said had 2.

They said they didn't and had me call back next day at noon when another truck would have unloaded.

They said call back 2 hours later (today) and I did and they said nope, didn't have any.

I give up. What a bunch of douches. And they told me they would be frowned upon if they subbed the Logitech. Screw it. I guess I should have gone to CC and tried to price match, something I think I've only tried once. It's gonna rain like hell tomorrow and probably won't bother.

Boy, that sucks! After I asked the manager at my local Staples if he would sub the Logitec, he said, "OK, we can do that. That is what we have been doing. But, we are out of the Logitech too." Then, he added, "If it's available online, I can order it for you."

He then proceeded to order it online at the sale price! I guess I should go back and express my gratitude to him. Just shows how these things are so dependent on the person you encounter.

Well, Staples delivered today and they did indeed ship Lasers. Good deal.

What's the difference between an optical mouse and a laser mouse?

Finally scored mine at Walmart. They rung me up at 14.98. They asked me if they could clip out the Staples ad and I said yeah. They didn't call Staples.

It said "High Definition Laser Mouse. It looks like a 3 button mouse, including the scroll wheel.
