If you wanted a tablet, now's the time to go get one.

Link to Coupon (*EXCLUDES the HP TouchPad, Kindle and Nook)

For record, Staples carries:
$399 - $100 = Asus Transformer
$399 - $100 = Acer Iconia
$499 - $100 = Motorola Xoom
$499 - $100 = BlackBerry PlayBook (32gb, they don't seem to have the 16gb)
$479 - $100 = Toshiba Thrive (16gb)
$299 - $100 = Dell Streak 7

Now, if your store doesn't STOCK a particular tablet (ie: The Asus Transformer is online only), order it online at the in-store kiosk (which has an option to pay at the register), have it shipped to the store, then have them adjust the price using the coupon at the register. Remember, this coupon ISN'T valid online, in store only.

Also, don't forget - don't see what you want or simply hate Staples with a passion? OfficeDepot will be more than happy to accept a competitor's coupon.

OfficeDepot offers: (Prices listed before comp coupon)
$429 - Toshiba Thrive (8gb)
$399 - Asus Transformer (16gb)
$399 - Acer Iconia (16gb)
$499 - Lenovo IdeaPad K1 (32gb)
$299 - ViewSonic GTablet
$499 - BlackBerry PlayBook (16gb)

I've had the Playbook and Xoom. Not a good deal even at 100 dollars off. The rest are a good deal I think.

A Streak 7 might be a neat toy at $199. The Transformer for $299 is damned tempting.

The Transformer is showing up as "Delivery Only," so it may not be an option at staples. If Office Depot has one in stock, would they accept it for the Transformer, even if no local staples had a transformer in stock?

Transformer is out of stock. They probably don't do rainchecks for these, huh?

Again, Staples doesn't carry the Transformer IN STORE. You have to order it at the kiosk in store and pay for it at the register, then it gets delivered.

Yes. Office Depot doesn't care about price/stock when it comes to comping competitor COUPONS.

No.

OK, so Staples is merely clearing out tablets that may never have a large market share?:awe:

Awesome deal. I'm going to pick up a Transformer 16GB from Office Depot at lunch. A manager already said they would accept the coupon and that they have them in stock.

Awesome. My local Office Depot has an Asus Transformer in stock and the manager said they'd take the Staples coupon. I have ~$48 on an OD gift card I got for free during a christmas promotion, so I should be able to get it for ~$280 after tax :)

Sweet deal! I'm on hold with Office Depot right now... Leaning towards the Transformer... but has anyone played with the K1 yet?

Going to pick-up a Transformer right now:) Will play with some of the others to be sure... but I really think this is the one to get.

I am hearing people having success with Walmart and their competitor's coupon match policy.

Got a 16GBTransformer unit on hold at Office Depot. Asked if they honor competitors coupons. She said yes. Expecting the manager to fight me on this one when I show up with a coupoin for 100 dollars off a 400 dollar item :D

Edit: Got it. She looked at the coupon and said "Wow that is a really nice coupon" :D

25% isn't really a big deal. Best bet is if it's cheap enough (and useful enough) to sweeten the buy with the service plan. I mean if it's like $20 or so, it's a no-brainer for 2 extra years of coverage.

Has anyone played with the K1... I'm thinking of going that direction... built in Netflix app... supposedly allows you to store netflix locally?

I still have the Transformer on hold... now I just don't know what to do. Maybe I should save my money... I already have an iPad 2... I'm just jonesing to buy more toys.

If you are a Blackberry fan you would have already picked up the Playbook at full price. If you arent a fan theres no reason to get it even if its slightly cheaper.
But the Android tablets are fine cuz they have plenty of apps and its the same Droid experience you already know just with a bigger screen.

Actually do they have a special CM for large tablets that were originally 3.0?

You can bet on it. They are stuck with inventory and blowing it out to get some cash flow going.

these coupons are all manufacturer subsidized. if the retailers don't sell them then they ship them back to the makers.

look for every retailer that sells these to have them go on sale over the next month or so. noticed this a year ago when i would see the same products go on sale at different retailers one week after another

there is probably a new batch of tablets coming soon and these have to be sold. qualcomm is supposed to start shipping their LTE and everything else radio chips soon which will go into the newer models

Is there an 'adblock' option for web browsing on Android? I guess adblock on a good browser would a be nice push to get a tablet.
