I tell you it's enough to make we want to move out of Montreal. Never mind all the political crap that we have to put up with. It hard to be a Habs fan with the way they've been playing.

The Sen's have been building for many seasons now. This year they'll make it to the finals. In the west, Colorado will be spent by the playoffs and get knocked out before the third round, it will be St Louis, Sharks, or the Canucks for the finals.

St. Louis is hands down the best team in the NHL...they would destroy the Devils in a 7 game series...which is what will happen in the Stanley Cup Finals:

2. Do really badly for 3-4 years.
3. Build up again.

I'm not a bandwagon hopper though......... I've always supported them from 79' til now (the rest of the 70's was for the Habs........ Guy Guy Guy )

Colorado without a doubt. Dallas is NOT the hottest team this year. Try San Jose, St Louis, or Colorado in the West.

In the West I see Colorado or St. Louis. I think the Blues are the better team but their goaltending is still suspect. Give the Blues the edge but Roy might be able steal the series. The Stars and Wings are both solid teams but without any major acquisitions before the trade deadline I don't think they can compete with the top 2. San Jose has an impressive line up but no real playoff experience. If I had to pick a top seed to get knocked out in the first round(a la St. Louis last year) it would be them. And while it would be great to see the Canucks in the finals they need a few more years. I love the team this year and they should finally make the playoffs but they are not in the same elite category as the top teams yet.

The east is so wide open its hard to say. Jersey is probably the odds on favourite although I personally think Buffalo is the team to watch. With Mario back, the Pens could make a run but they need to upgrade their goaltending if they are going to last for more than a round. A lot can happen in the east... Lindros or Blake to Toronto could drastically change the picture so its hard to make a prediction at the moment. Should be fun to watch.

Leafs and Colorado. The Leafs having recently traded for Blake and having signed Lindros win in 6. Of course Lindros is concussed before his first shift in game 1 when he sneezes.

Now that the Leafs are in the East again I kind of miss the Red Wings rivalry.

Nor was Dallas the hottest team at this point last year. They will be back, and they will have to beat Colorado in the West. They will rematch New Jersey with a different outcome this season.
