I left my fsb at 100 and slowly bumped up my multiplier. I'm currently running at 950 (9.5x100) @1.7V. When i set it at 8x100 it will post at 7x100 but 8.5x100 works fine. When i select the mulitplier at 10x100 it post 9x100. 9, 9.5X100 works fine.

Any one has any idea why it ignores my setting at 8 and 10+? Any of you abit/duron owners seen anything like this? Should i adjust my FSB?

I would ideally like to have my system at 1GHz although i cant really complain at 950. Running rock stable and pretty cool (38C cpu temp/27C case temp)

any idea... suggestion?? please help

Doesn't look like all the L1 bridges are connected. Try adding some more lead, if this is what you used.

Hmm... If lets say only three out of four were to be connected... Will it cause this problem? Won't it not work at all?

and yes i used a lead to connect the L1 together..

I'll recheck it anyways... anyone out there have similar problem or advice that can resolve this problem. I understanding the computer not booting for not liking the setting multiplier/fsb setting... but it very strange that when i put it at 10x1000 it tells me 9x100 but works perfectly fine at 9.5x100.

Any more advice would help.

I've taken out the cpu, used the eraser and erased the connection to the L1 bridge. This time i reconnected the L1 carefully ensuring that its a good connection and nothing that lead is not over lapping. When i put it back in it did not seem to overclock at all. At all settings it say I'm at 7.5x100. I tried different settings and eventually that computer did not even turn on. So i reset the cmos manually via the jumper. Erased lead.. reconnect... and now it works as before... i mean does not post at 800 and 1000 but post at other fine.

Can anyone give me advice... or tell me whats wrong? Is it not just liking it? Should the computer not boot instead if giving me false numbers?

One more thing to add. Before i was able to boot at 950 with only 1.65V (for serveral days no problem.. till i started to play with it today) Now i need 1.75V to boot.

Hope this info helps..

Its probably still the graphite not connecting properly. To make a better connection use the 'stuff' to fix rear window defoggers available at automotive stores. Permatex and Loctite have brands. It conducts MUCH better than pencil.
