I have terrible posture when I sit at a desk. I am thinking that from now on, I am going to work at least half the day at a standing desk.

Anyone else use one?

Pros / Cons / Great models?

I saw one for 270 on amazon.com that looks pretty decent.

My dad used one and had pretty good results from it after a back surgery.

One of our company offices were outfitted with them at every desk (they are desks that can be raised or lowered depending on how you want to work). NO ONE uses them in the upright position.

There was a lady at my old job who swore by them and got the company to buy her one because of her "condition". She was one of those people who always had to be different about everything and was extremely high maintenance. One week the water in the bathroom isn't hot enough, or she didn't like the taste of the bottled water that the company bought, or the cubicle she was in didn't have proper ventilation (wtf?). It was always something with her. Oh yeah...and every once in a while she'd wear sweaters without bras...and believe me...this is not the kind of woman you want to see bra-less. I forgot how much she annoyed me. I would almost want to hide behind my desk when she'd walk by my office just to avoid any possible interaction with her.

Blew out my L5 disc several years ago and when I finally came back to work (tech support), it had to be standing up. I can't find the model of this table, but it's adjustable and 6ft long and 3 feet wide. Company paid for it.

I also have an adjustable chair that I can use when I do get tired of standing.

I say overall, even if I didn't have a bad back, I'd still spend most of my day working standing up.

Trying to attach a crappy cell phone pic... how the heck do you do it?

back when I had a jerker, I had it setup high enough that I could comfortable use my computer while standing or sitting on a stool.
