standbye problems with 3 different mobos

i've had this same problem with my epox, asrock and now asus a8v mobo

when i go into standbye mode for a couple hours it comes back on fine, if i leave it in standbye overnight, nothing comes back on, mouse/keyboard/monitor are all off.

i'm using rather expensive 1gb dual channel corsair xms ddr400 ram, could it be a memory leak or is this a video driver issue? still happens after using last several driver releasses i know that. my winxp is nlited also, i have latest bios

Sounds like some device that doesn't properly support suspend mode. Update the drivers for EVERYTHING. If you have any cards installed other than the video card, pull them and see if it behaves. Re-install them one by one to find the culprit.

i dont have anything installed besides video card, ive tried s1,s3 and auto modes on all 3 mobos, on my asrock it reboots when i come out of standbye. i have latest drivers and bioses, the only thing thats the same between mobos is ram, cpu, psu, videocard.
i cant figure out why it works fine if set for a few hours but not overnight...how would i determine a memory leak?

bump, anyone else help me figure a cause? i really like standbye
although now with my mobo when i hit standbye, windows tells me its goin into standbye, screen goes blank then comes right back on..its driving me nuts although i think hibernate works but my pc is actually faster to cold boot.

Some enthusiast class mobos have problems with standby, but a BIOS upgrade fixed my problems. I would just use hibernate, if you can, and it is more stable anyway.
