Standby = Very slow performance after words.

Hi, my friend has a Sony Vaio, Athlon XP 2400+, 512 DDR, windows xp home. He puts it in standby a lot because he likes it quiet. It was working fine coming out of standby until we installed a new hp printer. Now when you put it in standby and then wake it up everything is really really slow. I open task manager and I see that "system" is using 99% of the cpu power. If I end it it just comes back and is still using all cpu power. If you restart the computer all is fine. What could be the cause of this?

when u tried uninstalling the HP driver, does the problem go away?

Maybe try different driver for your printer, and see what happen
