That is the deck that came with my Mustang...I just turned off demo mode which was apparently never turned off. Only thing now is that it displays the word "Standby", and doesn't play my CD until I choose the CD source. And when I choose that source, it starts at Song 1 at 0:00.

How can I get it to resume play and play the CD source automatically?

Also, if I want to plug my Zune in, can I just use the RCA ports on the back?

Further investigation reveals that it is not saving anything...so either a power wire is disconnected or crossed, right?

Constant 12V wire is disconnected, your head unit needs a constant 12V signal in order to retain settings...it's been a while since I messed with car stereos, but IIRC yellow(from the head unit) is usually the connection for constant power. MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM THIS BEFORE JUST CONNECTING IT TO 12V, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FRYING YOUR HEAD UNIT. Get a voltmeter and find the wire in your dash that provides 12V even with the ignition turned off and you're golden. If you can't find one, check your fuse box, there should be somewhere in there that gets constant power that you can tie into.

Dunno about your autoplay issue, RTFM?

On a stereo in that price range the only RCAs are a lot more likely to be preouts for an external amplifier. If there's only one set of RCAs I'd say it's a 99% chance that they're output and not input.

Fixed the stereo problem. Turns out that the constant and ignition wires were switched. Not surprising considering the unit was on demo mode when I got it. 😀

Plus, the two are outputs as you said, need an adapter for AUX.
